The Shadowthrone is the second studio album by Norwegian black metal band Satyricon. It was released on 12 September 1994, through Moonfog Productions. The band have described The Shadowthrone as an atmospheric and symphonic album with a strong Nordic touch. There are fewer acoustic guitars and medieval influences, and it is harsher and grimmer than the debut Dark Medieval Times, but it still maintains the atmosphere set forth in their debut album. All tracks are written by Satyr. Type: Full-length. Release date: September 12th, 1994. Catalog ID: Fog 003. Show lyrics. loading lyrics. I en svart kiste. Shadowthrone picks up right where Dark Medieval Times left off, as Norway's Satyricon completed the foundation of their extreme metal reputation with the release of this sophomore Moonfog effort. After the success of their debut, more resources were devoted to this 1994 follow-up, and the resulting sonic and conceptual improvements are quite noticeable. The tracks are dense and sprawling, the performances drip with black metal conviction, and the total package is a complex and fierce upgrade. Completa la tua Collezione su Satyricon.
